MERRILL — The Merrill Fire Department will host its 8th annual Fall Picnic fall fundraiser Saturday, Sept. 24, at the fire station at 500 Roosevelt Street.

The fundraiser, which runs from 6-7:30 p.m., features a free-will donation meal with games and an educational piece. There will also be a cornhole tournament started at 1 p.m. the same day.

This year’s fundraiser is to help provide additional safety features on the department’s new brush truck. This equipment will include a dedicated fire-attack platform for members, as well as improved communication headsets between the driver and exterior firefighter.
