Those close to Crabtree Road are being warned that electricity supply maybe affected for nearby homes

Firefighters are currently tackling a fire involving a derelict building on Crabtree Road in Sheffield. South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue have five fire engines at the scene of the blaze, which broke out around 2:15 on Friday morning, July 1.

Fire officers at the scene say that the electricity supply to some buildings in the area might have been affected while crews dealt with the incident. The fire involves a derelict care home and five fire engines and a turntable ladder are reported to be at the scene.

In a post on Twitter published at 5:27am, the fire service stated: "Firefighters are currently tackling a fire involving a derelict building on Crabtree Road in Sheffield. The electricity supply to some buildings in the area might be affected whilst we deal with the incident, which we're working to resolve as quickly as possible. The fire involves a derelict care home and we've got five fire engines and a turntable ladder on the scene. The fire broke out at around 2.15am."
